A quintet made up of players from Brass Fusion took first place in a competition on its debut performance.
The group, called BF5, won the small ensemble section at the Brass Festival Day in Burgess Hill. The winning performance comprising Phantom of the Opera, Stardust, O Fortuna and a swing version of Oh When the Saints.
BF5 is made up of Martin and Andy on cornet/trumpet/flugel, Ruth on horn, Paul on euphonium and trombone and Sian on bass.
The group’s next performance is at the annual Christmas Starts Here variety evening in Henfield on Thursday 5 December. Brass Fusion’s next show is the Christmas Concert at 2.30pm on Sunday 8 December.
